Guidelines to Barbieland
The Barbie life.

K'INICH . he/him . 26
japanese , k'iche and mamThis is a private, independent (and serious) blog for Barbara "Barbie" Millicent Roberts. My barbie is not compliant to the 2023 film but does take visual inspiration. Barbie is on a journey to the real world and finding out what's out there for her. She is the founder for Barbie Inc. I heavily reference from The Truman SHow (1998) among other films. This is a low-activity blog. I ask that you please be patient with me when it comes to responses, be it writing or IM responses. Writing is merely a creative past time for me. My blog is solely to write.Important: I do explore some fantasy surrealism themes for barbie, genre often explores philosophical exploration of the human experience. my intentions visually and in writing are sinuous, rhythmical, distored, and dreamlike. The works of haruki murakami, min jin lee, Genki Kawamura, and jane austin influence my writing along with a third-person omniscient narrator.I will only interact with mutuals. I'm highly selective and private. I regularly softblock if there's no desire to interact, either ic or ooc. I prefer to follow people who reciprocate interest of writing. I have no desire about anything but writing.i hardblock liberally and curate my space liberally. If I haven't made myself clear, I prioritize writing and I'm not interested in participating in (petty) drama. You may approach me if (and only if) someone is an active danger to others. Otherwise, don't bother me.DuplicatesI will not follow back other barbie (roberts) blogs. The same applies for multi's (with the exception of being close friends). I've had bad experiences with my work being lifted from duplicates.
If you copy anything, I'll know. There are motifs and themes I've incorporated into her. These are the tell-tale signs of my Barbie.
I ask that you skip out on following me if you're already writing a lot with another Barbie. I feel at ease when I am the barbie writer in my small bubble of friends. As themes above said, this blog will explore some surrealism and often philosophical. Please be aware prior to following.
Every content on this blog will be tagged accordingly. the only thing i request to be tagged is visual vomit.magicearring ♡ is my husband, exclusive ken carson, and part of barbie's main arc. Avram's Ken will be heavily featured on this blog.I generally do not format my responses and sometimes won't use icons. While I usually go for the simplicity route, I don't discourage writers utilizing formats and the like! I require no accomodations! All graphics, headcanons, metas, and writing are published and created by me. This carrd was created and coded by me. I am not a resource or inspiration blog.

Little is known about her upbringing. She remains an idol to most, a mystery to others. Known as many things , but one name sticks from the rest : she is Barbie!Barbie was literally confined in this artificial world that she is led to believe is real. This world is by itself, separated from other places, including reality. On the surface, this world is a picture-like daydream, akin to a 'perfect world'. Every resident is happy and care-free. On a sunny day, a straight road, with nicely placed houses, white picket fences, and neatly groomed lawns. Architect, furniture, utensils—adorned with bright colors— almost toyetic.Barbie is expressionless as she examines her image in the mirror. Hair brushed into a bow, gingham dress adorn her figure, freshly manicured fingers rest upon her lap. She sits still for a while. She keeps staring blankly into the mirror for what seems like an inordinate amount of time. She says to herself: she feels like a fish trapped in a bowl. These words leave an uncomfortable bitter taste on her tongue. Curiosity still expands her chest, warm, liberating then horrific. It settles beneath her jugular. Loneliness so great that she can see it in her eyes. She's tired of wearing facades to please this world around her from her ever-curious being. The imperfections escaping through the cracks beneath her feet. She could not asks questions of life without faces turning to disgust. No longer capable of fitting in with the rest of the residence. She's nothing, floating alone. She's something the sea casted out and not of this world (or any). The weather and the sea have imprisoned Barbie. Ironically, she is likewise constrained by the sky, as well as by her peers. It seems as though her existence is a never-ending circle. Barbie leads a monotonous life, with little change from one day to the next. She longs for adventure and change, but as she repeats this cycle, her goals are never realized. This world is make-believe beyond belief, so fictitious that it aches. She's at crossroads of living in blissful ignorance and continue living in a glass dome or going through the terrifyingly unknown. She always finds herself standing on the beach, glancing at how vast the sea is for long moments. the sea reminds her of captivity then freedom simultaneously. She wished to be within the tides, submerged, only to feel reborn, to be an individual. Anywhere but her home. Her mind is lost– stranded deep within an ocean. Out of her depth, submerged within the infinite void in her own doubts, in her sorrow. The waves of judgment pushed her deeper, deeper. This island of solitude is a frightening place, but is it where I belong? She settles out, alongside ken, and never looks back. Just with one suit case of clothes. She's chasing her dreams to become someone, make an impact to others, and go through reality beyond the one she was brought in the beginning.
